STUDIO DELLE ALPI: ESTAMPADOS EN MADERA | STUDIO DELLE ALPI: PRINTED ON WOOD

To create a wooden toy that combines simplicity, fun and beauty, is more and more complicated. Studio delle Alpi got it done, and very well. Studio delle Alpi is located between Luxemburg and Milan.

His whole production is made in Italy, his creations are easily recognizable thanks to his "patterns" of happy colors printed directly on wood.
His collection of toys and children's furniture has all the ingredients to become a classic design for children. These patterns, with simple lines, have a timeless feel that makes it a unique piece for children rooms.
Stars, dots, stripes, neon colors, rejoicing drag toys as Enzo the Pull-Dog or Chevy-van, with his curves lines; or trees coming out of two triangles, creating colorful and synthetic woods; wild animals in bubblegum pink ...

A fun and creative universe that stimulates the imagination and encourages inventing stories and new worlds.

Today we want to talk about our friends who we just visited in Italy. They are called Operai del design (Design workers).
OD is a network/manifesto that believes in the cultural value of design. They puts the accent on design origin, with an ethical and social base. The priority is the functionality and that gives value and beauty to the product.
This network is a collaboration of different design offices. Together they have written a manifesto that sounds like this:

In a ideal society the product design should
be innovative
be useful
be the result from a sustainable approach
not need explanation
make to think the user
be culture
have as few intermediaries as possible
be independent of the designer name
just be honest.

They have projects, not looking for decorative product, but trying to respond to small daily needs. We like: el Segnalibro (Bookmarks) y la Libreria da tavolo (Shelf table):

Segnalibro: ‘Sleepy, the last act of the day is to place the book on the nightstand, trying in vain to keep the sign and don’t crease the sheets. And then I like this bookmark! "

Libreria da tavolo: ‘Look ***** I bought this library, so eventually you will not have all the books on the desk! "
