EL NAN CASTELLER: TRADICIÓN HECHA JUEGO | NAN CASTELLER: TRADITION AND TOY

The project we present today is very special, because it changes the traditional toy concept: a local cultural tradition becomes a toy with an international vocation.
We talk about El nan casteller: a proposal by two entrepreneurs from Tarragona inspired by the typical traditional "Castells" in Catalonia.
The "Castells" are recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2010 and it's part of the Catalan culture with a history of more than 200 years.
The great thing is that from this tradition based on teamwork and overcoming, they have created a wonderful building game where pieces make complex and high structures.
With simple pieces of great stability and right angles it's possible to play and learn maintaining at the same time the spirit of this tradition.
The Nan Casteller is designed betting on local production.
